HMS Pinafore

September 9-13, 2015

“or, The Lass That Loved a Sailor…”

HMS Pinafore is Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic nautical operetta, set on board the HMS Pinafore in Portsmouth harbour. The story of the conflict of love and social standing pits the handsome young (and lowly) Ralph Rackstraw against the wealthy (and older) Sir Joseph Porter KCB – First Lord of the Admiralty, for the affections of Josephine, the daughter of Captain Corcoran. Things are seldom what they seem, however. As the story unfolds, vanities are revealed, true identities discovered and true love rules the waves – just like the British navy.

H.M.S. Pinafore was onstage at Guelph Little Theatre September 9th – 13th, 2015
