Iolanthe

Or The Peer and the Peri!

April 26th-29th, 2007

RCMPI presents its fourth Gilbert and Sullivan production.

THE FAIRIES ARE COMING!   THE FAIRIES ARE COMING!

The Upper House doesn’t apply too much sober second thought on this one and tries to resist the will of the Fairy Queen in a dispute over love.  Not a good move!  Blue blood and legal knowledge are no match for true love and fairy cunning.

Iolanthe is one of the highlights of the Gilbert and Sullivan partnership and was written shortly after Pirates of Penzance at the pinnacle of their popularity.  This comical musical lampoons the British aristocracy and the political party system.  The incredible music, comedy and characters combine to make a show that will be enjoyed by all ages.
