Our New Home

Help raise the curtains on RCMPI's new home

For nearly 50 years, our company has been powered by talent, passion, and by the extraordinary generosity of members who opened their homes and properties to us. From the endless boxes of wigs in Deanna’s dining room, to bins of costumes waiting to be altered at Sandra’s house, to “the barn” filled with hundreds of set pieces from shows past, to the 30’ x 10’ temporary tent on Deb’s driveway where The Little Mermaid took shape — time and again, our community stepped up to solve our greatest challenge: space.

THE BIG NEWS:
We are about to bring all of those spaces together under one roof.

RCMPI signed a 15-year lease beginning March 1 on a 60’ x 40’ warehouse that will become our new permanent home — Tom Gould Hall, named in honour of our long-time board member, performer, Facilities Chair, advocate, and friend.

Within this incredible space we will create:

  • a dedicated set construction shop
  • a props warehouse
  • a costume warehouse
  • office space
  • and a 25’ x 35’ set staging area and rehearsal hall

For the first time in our history, we will be able to rehearse on the actual set before moving into the theatre. This is a transformative moment for RCMPI and we need you!

This new home will also allow us to hold auditions, cast parties, AGMs, and our awards gala in one place — strengthening our sense of community while significantly reducing our annual rental costs.

Thanks to years of careful financial stewardship, we are in a strong position to take this bold step. At the same time, we want to protect our reserves so we remain secure in the face of future uncertainties. We have applied for a Trillium Grant from the province, but that will only cover part of the project.

We need you to get us there!

Our need is to raise $60,000 by the end of April 2026**, and $120,000 by the end of December 2026. We invite those who are able to help us build this future together.

**Why so soon? 100 Crimea requires all new construction to be done with non-combustible building materials (steel). Unfortunately, these products would come from the US. Our builder has informed us that the price of steel is likely to skyrocket in the near future. Our quote is good for 45 days. If we can raise enough VERY QUICKLY, then we know we will be in good shape and can sign off on the build, locking-in the price.

📅 JOIN US FOR AN OPEN HOUSE – May 13th, 6pm, 100 Crimea St, Unit A-8 before our AGM
All members are warmly invited to tour the space, view the design plans, and meet with the Facilities Committee to learn more about what’s ahead.

This is more than a building — it’s a home for the next generation of RCMPI magic.

Please give as generously as you are able. Every amount helps, no matter the size. Remember, there are no small roles!

With our deepest thanks,

RCMPI Board Of Directors
