Bringing Musical Theatre to Guelph Since 1979

Help Raise The Curtain On RCMPIs New Home

For nearly 50 years, our company has been powered not only by talent and passion, but by the extraordinary generosity of members who opened their homes and properties to us. From the endless boxes of wigs in Deanna’s dining room, to bins of costumes waiting to be altered at Sandra’s house, to “the barn” filled with hundreds of set pieces from shows past, or the 30’ x 10’ temporary tent on Deb’s driveway where The Little Mermaid took shape — time and again, our community stepped up to solve our greatest challenge: space.

THE BIG NEWS

We are about to bring all of those spaces together under one roof.

On stage April 30th to May 3rd, 2026

Studio Theatre, River Run Centre.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a nonstop Vaudevillian laughfest in which Pseudolus, a crafty Roman slave, contrives to win the hand of a beautiful young courtesan for his young master, in exchange for his freedom. The plot twists and turns with hilarity and mistaken identity on its way to a happy ending.

About Us

RCMPI was founded in 1978 through the efforts of a local group that recognized the need for a musical theatre company in this area. The objectives of the company are to provide high caliber entertainment to the citizens of Guelph and area through the presentation of Broadway style musicals and to provide a forum through which amateur actors, singers, dancers and technicians can express themselves through participation in a community theatre company.

RCMPI is committed to making each experience with our company one that is fully inclusive, representative and uplifting to all voices; in particular, the voices of strategically undervalued members of our society.
We hope to make this space one which fosters social change and empowerment, both within our company and for the wider community we serve.
As an active company for more than forty years, we are acutely aware that there have been past productions which no longer reflect our values regarding cultural sensitivity and representation. As such, some photos from past productions will not be appearing on our website.

We sincerely apologize for any and all harm caused.
