AUDITIONS
To audition you must be at least 7 years old (as of January 1st, 2022).Audition will be held on June 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, 2022. You may request your preferred time-slot.
Audition spots will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Note: Auditioners auditioning for a double cast role (see Casting Information) will be part of the ensemble when not performing that role.
DANCE AUDITION
An additional audition slot has been added for those who wish to be considered for the roles (10) of the Big Kids at Cruncheon Hall. The Big Kids will have more challenging choreography than the little kids. Actors will be chosen who look to be junior and high school age students. Those who wish to be considered for these roles must also attend a singing audition at another time. Dance training is helpful but not required to attend.VIDEO AUDITIONS
If you are unable to be physically present at any of the audition dates we will accept an audition submitted through video. To submit a video audition select "video audition" in the time slot drop down menu. Audition forms will then be sent to you for you to complete. The video and forms are to be submitted no later than Wednesday, June 1st, 2022.WHERE

Callbacks will be held at a location to be announced.
PREPARATION
Actors are required to bring a non-returnable photo. Please arrive fifteen minutes early to fill out an Audition FormPlease be prepared to stay approximately one hour.
Auditioners are required to prepare a segment of a song from Matilda, as well as one minute from another song of their choice.
- Matilda music excerpts will be provided upon submission of the audition form.
- Choose a Matilda music excerpt that best matches the role you are interested in and/or your vocal range
- Tracks for Matilda songs will be available at the audition but auditioners must provide a track for their second song.
Auditioners may be asked to do a cold reading of part of the script – the purpose of this is for the directorial
team to get an idea of the auditioner’s acting and accent abilities, which are necessary for this show.
Auditioners may also be asked if they can speak in an English accent. Nothing specific to a region just a general
accent. This will not be mandatory; it will be used to inform casting decisions.

CALLBACKS
Callbacks are by invitation. They will be held on Monday, June 6th - 6-10pm (cold read, harmonizing, possibly performing the audition song again in its entirety)Note: In preparation for a possible callback, it is recommended you begin learning the song you plan to use for your audition in advance. During the initial audition you will only sing a portion of the song.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1-5 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 6-10 pm. In mid-October, we will add Sunday evenings from 6:30-9 pm.Rehearsals begin Thursday, September 8th, 2022.
AVAILABILITY
While we understand that people may have prior commitments and there are unforeseen circumstances surrounding one's availability, it is imperative that cast members attend all rehearsals that they are called for.Please bring your calendar to your audition as you will be required to fill out a form stating your availability. This will be taken into consideration when making casting decisions.
PERFORMANCES
There will be 6 performances starting at 7:30pm on November 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th 2022, and 1:30pm on November 26th and 27th, 2022.Actors cast in roles that are double cast will perform their role in three performances. When not performing in their assigned role, actors will be part of the ensemble.
All performances will take place at the River Run Centre. All cast must be available for all performances and the week preceding performances during the evenings and weekends.
EXPENSES
You don't need to be a member to audition, but membership of RCMPI is required to take part in the show. Individual membership is currently $25.00 per year, $10 for youth aged 15 or under.There will be a participation fee of $50.00 for cast members of this production. The participation fee is set by the Board of RCMPI and is used towards show and cast-related expenses.
VOLUNTEERING
RCMPI is a community, volunteer organization. Cast members are expected to volunteer at least 5 hours outside of rehearsals to assist with painting, set building, sewing, publicity, etc. to make the show a successful and rewarding experience for everyone. There will be certain volunteer opportunities geared towards children, and family and friends can also help with volunteer hours.More details about volunteer opportunities will be made available once rehearsals begin.
