AUDITIONS
To audition you must be at least 18 years old (as of January 1st, 2023).Auditions will take place on December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2022. You may request your preferred time-slot. Audition spots will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Please bring information regarding any conflicts you may have with the rehearsal schedule outlined below.
DANCE CALL
There will be a separate time slot on Sunday, December 4th at 6:00pm specifically for dancers. If you would like to participate in both a dance audition and a singing/acting audition, please select the dance call as your first choice on the audition application form, and your preferred singing/acting audition time slot as your second choice. If you would only like to participate in the dance call, please select the dance call as both your first and second choice.PREPARATION - DANCE CALL
Dancers must bring a non-returnable photo. Please be prepared to stay approximately one hour.The audition will consist of a brief group warm-up followed by learning a musical theatre/jazz routine.
Please dress appropriately and bring water.
VIDEO AUDITIONS
If you are unable to be physically present at any of the audition dates we will accept an audition submitted through video no later than 6:00pm on Thursday, December 1st, 2022. If you are submitting a video audition, you must still fill out an audition form and include the link to your video. The preferred method is for auditioners to submit an “unlisted” video on YouTube. Please ensure that your video has sharing permissions enabled for “anyone with the link”.PREPARATION – SINGING/ACTING AUDITION
Actors must bring a non-returnable photo. Please arrive fifteen minutes earlyPlease be prepared to stay approximately one hour. All parts require some level of movement. Please dress comfortably as there will be a movement component to the audition.
Auditioners must prepare a monologue of about two minutes. It does not need to be memorized.
Auditioners must also prepare two minutes of a song from a musical other than Cabaret. No a cappella auditions are permitted. We will have the ability to play recorded accompaniment through a CD player, MP3 player, iPhone, or iPod. (There are many instrumental tracks available on YouTube and iTunes.) A piano will also be available if you wish to bring your own accompanist, however an accompanist will NOT be provided. If you are using a karaoke track from YouTube or similar, we recommend downloading it before your audition to avoid any issues if you are unable to access the Internet during your audition.
Please do not use a song from Cabaret.

CALLBACKS
Callbacks are by invitation only. They will take place on Sunday, December 11th, 2022 from 2pm to 5pm. Those invited to a callback will be contacted directly via email with the materials to prepare.REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be held on Sundays 2pm-5pm, and Tuesdays: 7pm-10pm. In mid-March we will add Sunday evenings from 6:30-9:30pmRehearsals begin on Sunday, January 8th, 2023.
COVID-19 POLICY
RCMPI maintains a COVID-19 policy that must be adhered to and is subject to change as public health requirements, as well as rehearsal and performance venues dictate. The current policy can be viewed online.AVAILABILITY
While we understand that people may have prior commitments and there may be unforeseen circumstances surrounding one's availability, it is imperative that cast members attend all rehearsals that they are called for.Please bring your calendar to your audition as you will be required to fill out a form stating your availability.
PERFORMANCES
There will be 5 performances starting at 7:30pm on April 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2023 and 1:30pm on April 29th and 30th, 2023.All performances will take place at the River Run Centre. All cast must be available for all performances and the week preceding performances during the evenings and weekends.
EXPENSES
You do not need to be a member to audition, but you must be an RCMPI member to participate in the show. Individual membership is currently $25.00 per year.There will be a participation fee of $50.00 for cast members of this production. The participation fee is set by the Board of RCMPI and is used towards show and cast-related expenses.
VOLUNTEERING
RCMPI is a community, volunteer organization. Cast members are expected to volunteer at least 5 hours outside of rehearsals to assist with painting, set building, sewing, publicity, etc. to make the show a successful and rewarding experience for everyone. Family and friends can also help with volunteer hours.More details about volunteer opportunities will be made available once rehearsals begin.
