A Letter from the Vice-President

Dear Members,

As we approach our final show of 2015, I wanted to take a moment to say what an amazing year this has been for RCMPI! Our spring show, The Rocky Horror Show, was such a success an additional show had to be added on the Sunday evening, and we expect our production of Fiddler on the Roof to do very well.

This year also brought collaboration with Guelph Little Theatre and a production of H.M.S. Pinafore directed by our very own Jane Martin. Riding on the success of Rocky the company also remounted the show for Halloween! Need I say more? Great productions, talented casts, and amazing crews have made for a memorable year for RCMPI.

With that said I also wanted to remind everyone of the hard work that happens away from the spotlight through the work of the committees and the Board of Directors. The decisions and consultation occurring through the Board and our committees, help to keep the company financially sound and always forward thinking to promote the company.

We know that within this company there are many talented individuals with talents to offer the company when not participating in a spring or fall production. Some of your talents can be put to good use as part of a committee as a start, or with the Board if you are so inclined. There is always room for new faces with fresh ideas.

Although committee and Board meetings are less intense than a rehearsal schedule, there are expectations as part of the role on a committee, like one meeting per month for 1-2 hours and possibly some extra hours on duties within a committee’s mandate.

The Board also has monthly meetings lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours, and all members are expected to sit on a standing committee, and at all times help to promote RCMPI.

This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the engine that drives RCMPI and be instrumental in the success of this great company, which for the record will celebrate 40 years in 2018. If you are interested, please contact myself of any member of our current Board for more information.

Best of Luck Jenn and Rob!
It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors accepts the resignation of Jenn Peter
s as she heads to the United States to start a new career in Connecticut. Jenn and Rob have both been an integral part of RCMPI since their first show, Seussical, in 2012. We are very sad to see them go but we wish them well as they head in this new and exciting direction in life. We will miss you both!
